Honest Bathroom Remodeling Reviews From Houston Homeowners

Korey Barnett

Houston, TX

Excellent 5-star customer rating badge from Google Reviews

Nelson did a fantastic job renovating our bathroom. The quality of his work really stands out—the tile in the shower is clean and precise, the finishes look modern and high-end, and the vanity and fixtures were installed perfectly. He was also great to work with throughout the project—reliable, easy to communicate with, and stayed on schedule while keeping everything clean and organized. We’re extremely happy with the final result and would highly recommend Nelson to anyone looking for high-quality work

We previously tried another contractor last year to update our bathroom, and needless to say, my husband and I were not very happy with the results. Nelson came in and took a look at the bathroom, gave suggestions to improve the look and value, price range of the project, and an estimate of the length of the project and how the payments would work. They won’t be the most expensive or the cheapest contractor. We still spent more than we would have liked on the bathroom remodel, but we absolutely love our bathroom now! They took their time to make sure everything was done correctly and always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. When we can save up some more money, we definitely want Nelson and his team back to do a few more fixups at our outdated condo!

Design a Bathroom You'll Love Every Day

Your bathroom is one of the first rooms you use in the morning and one of the last at night. When it works well, your whole day feels smoother. A thoughtful bathroom remodel in Houston can make that happen.

Think about your morning routine. A better layout means you’re not bumping elbows or waiting your turn. Smart storage keeps towels and toiletries out of sight and easy to reach, and a double vanity can turn a stressful rush into a calm start.

At the end of the day, your bathroom can become a place to relax. A deep soaking tub, warm lighting, and a roomy walk-in shower make it easier to unwind. We also design with safety and accessibility in mind, using slip-resistant flooring, grab bars, and comfortable-height fixtures that help everyone in your family, from young kids to aging parents. These features blend right into the design.

A well-planned remodel does more than look good. It improves organization, adds storage, boosts safety, and increases your home’s long-term value. That’s a comfort you’ll enjoy today and an investment you’ll appreciate for years.

Our Services

Bathroom Remodeling Services in Houston

Every bathroom remodel is different. Some homeowners need a complete renovation, while others only need a shower, tub, vanity, or flooring updated. Brito Remodel & Construction handles both focused improvements and full bathroom remodeling in Houston, with the scope built around what your home actually needs.

Double sink vanity with fluted wood-tone cabinets, brass fixtures, and a hexagon-tiled walk-in shower

Full Bathroom Remodeling

Our full bathroom remodeling services cover the room from demolition through final finishes. Depending on your project, that can include layout changes, plumbing and electrical work, waterproofing, tile installation, vanities and cabinetry, countertops, lighting, ventilation, fixtures, glass, paint, and final cleanup.

For larger renovations, we coordinate the different trades involved so you are not trying to manage plumbers, electricians, tile installers, and other workers separately.

Tub to Walk-In Shower Conversion

Primary & Master Bathroom Remodeling

A primary bathroom should work for your everyday routine, not just look good in photos. We can rework cramped layouts, replace outdated showers and tubs, add double vanities and better storage, improve lighting, and create larger walk-in showers with features such as built-in niches, benches, handheld showerheads, and frameless glass.

Guest & Small Bathroom Remodeling

Small bathrooms need careful space planning. A smaller room can still gain better storage, improved lighting, a new vanity, updated tile, and a more functional shower or tub without making the space feel crowded.

We also remodel guest bathrooms and secondary bathrooms where homeowners want a focused update rather than a complete change to the entire room.

Shower Remodeling & Walk-In Shower Installation

We remodel existing showers and build new walk-in shower spaces based on the layout and structure of your bathroom. Work can include the shower pan, waterproofing, wall tile, floor tile, niches, benches, fixtures, showerheads, and glass enclosures.

For homeowners who want easier access, we can also discuss low-threshold or curbless shower options when the existing space allows it.

Bathtub with a navy blue subway tile surround and marble-look ledge

Tub Remodeling & Tub-to-Shower Conversions

If your tub is outdated but you still want a bathtub, we can replace the tub, update the surround, improve waterproofing, and install new fixtures and finishes.

When a tub is rarely used, a tub-to-shower conversion can turn that space into a more practical walk-in shower. We can also handle shower-to-tub conversions when keeping or adding a tub makes more sense for your household.

Vanity, Tile & Fixture Updates

A bathroom does not always need a complete gut renovation. We also handle focused updates such as bathroom vanity installation, countertop replacement, bathroom tile installation, flooring, faucets, shower fixtures, lighting, mirrors, storage, and other finish upgrades.

These smaller projects can refresh an outdated bathroom while keeping the existing layout where possible.

Brands We Trust

We install fixtures from brands known for reliability and long-term performance, so your bathroom looks great and holds up.

Moen

Faucets and shower fixtures built for durability and consistent water pressure, with finishes that resist tarnishing and corrosion over time.

Delta

Vanity faucets and shower systems known for smooth performance and dependable, long-lasting hardware.

We’ll help you choose the right fixtures and finishes from these brands to match your bathroom’s style and your budget.

Why Choose Us

Why Houston Homeowners Choose Brito Remodel & Construction

Choosing a bathroom remodeling contractor means trusting someone with your home, your budget, and several weeks of disruption. We keep the process personal and straightforward.

  1. Owner-Supervised Projects:
Every project is directly supervised by the owner, so there is clear accountability throughout the remodel. You’re not left trying to figure out who is responsible for the work or who to contact when a question comes up.

  2. Residential Remodeling Only:
We work exclusively on residential properties. Our work is centered on homeowners and the practical realities of remodeling the home where you live.

  3. Detailed Written Estimates:
After the in-home visit, we provide a detailed written estimate that breaks down the planned work and costs. This gives you a clearer picture of what is included before you commit to the project.

  4. Honest Budget Conversations:
We discuss your ballpark budget early because the scope of a bathroom remodel can vary dramatically. Knowing the budget and goals up front helps us recommend realistic options rather than designing a project that does not fit what you want to spend.

  5. Direct Communication:
You have a clear point of contact throughout the project, with communication about scheduling, decisions, changes, and anything that needs your attention.

  6. Local Houston Experience:
Houston homes vary considerably in age, construction, layouts, and existing systems. Our remodeling approach accounts for the conditions we find in existing homes rather than assuming every bathroom can be remodeled the same way.

Premium Materials We Install

The materials you choose shape how your bathroom looks, feels, and holds up over time. We only install quality products that stand up to Houston’s humidity and daily use.

Quartz

is a favorite for countertops. It resists stains, needs almost no upkeep, and comes in many colors.

Granite

offers natural beauty and strength, with each slab adding a unique character that lasts for decades.

Marble

brings a soft, elegant look for homeowners who want timeless style and a touch of refinement.

Porcelain tile

is dense, water-resistant, and extremely durable, ideal for floors, walls, and showers.

Natural stone

adds rich texture and one-of-a-kind appeal, from slate to travertine.

Ceramic tile

offers great looks at a friendly price, in endless colors and styles.

Water-efficient fixtures

help you save water and lower bills without sacrificing performance.

Glass shower

doors open up the space and give it a clean, modern look that's easy to keep sharp.

Moisture-resistant materials fight mold and water damage, which matters a lot in our humid climate. We’ll help you choose the right combination for your space and budget.

Bathroom Remodeling Costs in Houston

The cost of a bathroom remodel in Houston depends on the size of the room, the existing condition, the materials you choose, and how much of the layout or plumbing needs to change.

As a general planning range, many Houston bathroom remodeling projects fall somewhere around $8,000 to $35,000, while larger primary bathrooms, extensive layout changes, and high-end finishes can push the project higher. Smaller cosmetic updates may fall below that range.

The biggest factors that affect the final cost include:

  • Bathroom size and overall scope
  • Demolition and disposal
  • Tile and flooring selection
  • Vanity and countertop materials
  • Shower or tub configuration
  • Plumbing or drain relocation
  • Electrical and lighting work
  • Waterproofing and wet-area construction
  • Custom storage, niches, benches, and glass
  • Layout or structural changes
  • Fixture and finish selections

We don’t use a one-size-fits-all price because two bathrooms of the same size can require very different work. After seeing your space in person, we’ll provide a detailed written estimate based on the actual scope of your Houston bathroom remodel.

Featured Bathroom Remodeling Project

The Challenge

A family in the Memorial area came to us with a dated master bathroom that no longer worked. The layout was cramped, the shower was small and hard to step into, and storage was almost nonexistent. An older parent had recently moved in, and the high tub wall made daily use risky. They wanted a space that felt fresh but also safe for everyone.

The Solution

After a full design consultation, our plan removed the unused tub and replaced it with a spacious, curbless walk-in shower featuring a built-in bench, a handheld sprayer, and slip-resistant tile. We added a double vanity with plenty of drawers, custom storage along one wall, and comfort-height fixtures. Warm lighting, a fresh porcelain tile floor, and a quartz countertop tied the look together, with grab bars placed to blend into the design.

The Result

The family got a bathroom that feels like a spa but works for every generation under their roof. The open shower is safer and easier to use, the added storage keeps clutter away, and the room feels bigger and brighter. Best of all, the older parent can now use the bathroom with confidence and independence. See more remodels like this in our project portfolio.

Bathroom Remodeling FAQs

How long does bathroom remodeling take?

The timeline depends on the scope. A focused shower or tub update can take considerably less time than a full bathroom renovation. Larger remodels take several weeks depending on demolition, material availability, layout changes, plumbing or electrical work, and required inspections. We’ll provide a realistic schedule based on your project.

Usually, yes, especially for a single-bathroom project. There will be periods when the bathroom is unavailable, and larger renovations can create more disruption. We’ll explain what to expect before construction begins so you can plan around the work.

Yes. We handle tub-to-shower conversions, including removal of the existing tub, preparation of the shower area, waterproofing, tile, fixtures, and shower glass or enclosure as included in the project scope.

A full remodel can include demolition, layout changes, plumbing, electrical work, waterproofing, tile, flooring, vanities, countertops, lighting, ventilation, fixtures, shower or tub work, storage, painting, and final finishing. The exact scope depends on the condition and goals of your bathroom.

Durability depends on both the material and the installation. Porcelain and ceramic tile are common durable choices, while quartz is a low-maintenance countertop option. In wet areas, proper waterproofing, drainage, installation, and ventilation are just as important as the finish materials.

A remodel can improve a home’s function, appearance, and buyer appeal, but the financial return depends on the project cost, the condition of the home, the neighborhood, and the choices made during the renovation. We focus on practical improvements and durable materials rather than assuming every expensive upgrade will pay for itself.

Can you design an accessible bathroom for aging family members?

Yes. We can discuss features such as curbless showers, grab bars, shower benches, handheld showerheads, slip-resistant flooring, comfortable-height fixtures, and other layout changes that can make a bathroom easier and safer to use.

You do not need to arrive with a finished design. We’ll discuss the layout, materials, fixtures, storage, and finishes with you and help develop a practical scope for the space. You’re also welcome to bring inspiration photos or ideas you already have.

When the scope of a project requires permits or additional review, we help coordinate the permitting process as part of the project. Permit and inspection requirements depend on the work being performed.

We commonly work with Moen and Delta fixtures and can help you select products and finishes that fit your bathroom design, daily use, and budget.

Our projects are owner-supervised, we work exclusively on residential properties, and we provide detailed written estimates after reviewing the project in person. We focus on direct communication, clear scope, and practical remodeling decisions rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
